This blog is about my whatever which is completely different from your whatever. My whatever will be about writing, poetry, my dogs, what I find funny, food I hate, family, and basically any thing I want. Whatever.

Messed up cover.
When she doesn't work, she doesn't work.
This was a disaster.
:)
In this version, I took a gate picture, colored it black, tan and zombie gray. :) I then painted an ice prison around it.
From the inside, hell is suppose to spill out.
This one, the gate seem to get overpowered by everything else. Instead of looking cool and spooky, it looks like a seventh grade sci-fi book project.
But somethings worked.
I liked the dark tones of the cover. I liked the lava. The interaction between the lava, ice and gate don't work but parts of it do.

Like tHIS?
LIttle changes like moving the title can alter the mood of the cover as well. Putting Poetry on the finger defines the book. THis book is poems.
Where the cover where Said is on the finger is more open to intepretation.
Poetry books are hard sells to begin with, ambiguity is not your friend.
This cover says poetry, secrets and angst.
Just the mood that's wanted.

First and Last On Persimmon Road Cover
Here are three main covers made for the On Persimmon Road project. As you can see, the project changed over the week and morphed from a brown/light riddled cover to a more artistic one of a girl walking away from the reader.
See if you can spot the other changes.
:)

FINAL Cover is Jeans girl walking away from the reader toward a fade of an orangutan in the sky. The Title/author is not yet in this photo.
Second version of the cover. Although the colors worked, the girl was too young and the author decided on a person facing away from the camera.
First attempt at the cover for this book. The background overwhelmed the girl.
